According to Amnesty International, Govers Israel would be the rationing water use to the Palestinian population, thus forcing them to submit to an inspection system and hard conreto.
To write it is the Catholic agency SIR.
"Israel Care – Xinhua – the Palestinians the right to adequate access to water, maintaining total control of the shared water resources and implementing discriminatory policies, designed to limit the availability of water and prevent the development of water infrastructure operations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory ": the complaint is launched today by Amnesty International, in a relationship, illustrates to what extent the Israeli policies and practices denying the Palestinians their right to access to water.
“Israele – said Donatella Rovera, Amnesty International's researcher on Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories – allow the Palestinians access to only a small part of the shared water resources, found mostly in the occupied West Bank, where instead of the illegal settlements receive virtually unlimited supplies. In Gaza, the Israeli blockade has made worse an already dire situation that was ".
The Amnesty – SIR continues – shows how Israel uses more than 80% of the Mountain Aquifer water, the largest reserves of underground water area and only resource for Palestinians in the West Bank, and limits the access of Palestinians to just 20%. While the daily consumption of water for the Palestinians barely reaches 70 liters per person, is greater than that of Israeli 300 l. According to Amnesty, in some rural areas the Palestinians survive with only 20 liters per day, the minimum amount recommended for domestic use in emergency situations.
Of 180.000 a 200.000 Palestinians who live in rural communities have no access to running water and the Israeli army often prevents them from even collecting rainwater.
On the contrary, Israeli settlers, living in the West Bank in violation of international law, have farms with intensive irrigation, manicured gardens and swimming pools. 450.000 Israeli settlers - Report criticizes – use the same, if not a larger amount of water, than 2.300.000 Palestinians.
