James Dyson Award e’ an international award for design in order to encourage and inspire new generation of designers.
The prize’ sponsored by James Dyson Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by James Dyson, with the aim of encouraging young people to design in the design field. Participants are asked to design something to solve a functional problem.

The winner of the James Dyson Award 2009 e’: Automist

James Dyson said: “This simple but clever device should become a permanent safety device for the home. Fire alarms play an important role in modern life, but remained essentially unchanged for at least 40 age. Automist is not only’ able to detect a fire but can’ also turn it off”.
